Interview Preparation

Improve Your Interviewing Skills

A good resume will help you get an interview.  However, you’ll never receive a job offer if you don’t have good interviewing skills.  I work with you to present yourself to prospective employers in a way that aligns your strengths and experience with what the job requires.

During the first half of interview preparation, we cover the following for 45 minutes:

 1.  How to prepare for an interview

2.  How to promote your strengths

3.  How to answer difficult questions

4.  What to do if your totally stumped and can’t answer a question

5.  How to ask questions that let you evaluate interviewers and win their trust

6.  How to handle the salary question and negotiation

After covering these points, we do a practice interview that takes about 45 minutes.  This interview will help you perform better when you’re sitting across from a prospective employer.

When it comes to job interviews, I follow advice of the great basketball coach John Wooden:

“Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.”
